The Wedding Party
- Choose your attendants; best man, chief bridesmaid and the rest of the wedding party
- Firm up their room bookings at the reception venue as required
- Book a toastmaster if you intend on having one
Securing key wedding suppliers
- Determine what type of entertainment you want to have for your reception
- Select and book the wedding transportation
- Select and book a wedding florist
- Select and book a wedding photographer
- Select and book a wedding videographer if required
- Select and book your wedding reception DJ, band or musicians
- Select and book a wedding caterer if not already provided by the venue
- Select and book a wedding cake baker
- Select your bridesmaids' dresses and accessories
The Guest List
- Confirm your original 'A list' of family and close friends
- Decide on your approach to inviting children and apply it consistently
- Now make out your full 'B list' of others you will attend for the whole day
- Finally make out a 'C list' of friends who will attend in the evening only (after the meal)
- Check back to your original budget and allow for a 5% no show / cancellation rate
The Honeymoon
- Now you have a better idea of your budget vs. actual spend, plan the honeymoon
- Chose a location that balances exotic, convenience (you’ll be tired!) and cost
- Apply for a new passport if the bride wishes to travel under her married name
